A little about me...
My parents gave their life to the Lord when I was a very young boy. My Dad got up one morning and said get ready we are going to church. Well, when the neighbor man pulled out that morning we pulled out behind him. Instead of going to the bootleggers house, we turned the other way and went to church. That Sunday the preacher saw all them sinners on that pew and decided right then that God wanted him to hold a revival!
Gospel Truth Ministries was born in 1973. Pastor Larry Perkins - Founder and Senior Pastor, heard the Lord speak to him to build a church. God even spoke the name Gospel Truth to him.
Pastor Perkins was driving up Burns Street, in Gadsden, one evening and he noticed an old store front building on the corner of Hill Ave. and Burns Street. God told him.. "That's the place I want you to build a church."
Pastor Perkins began to act upon the word of the Lord and in January of 1973 the first service was held in that old store front building.
Today we have a nice facility that houses Gospel Truth Church, Lighthouse Christian Academy, and Alabama Ministerial Association. We are currently raising funds to build a new facility as this ministry has outgrown the current building.
In addition to to the above ministries, we also have a missions program. Pastor Perkins and his wife Martha travel to the mission field and minister to ministers that need encouragement and help. Because of their travels, we have missionaries from all over the world come and grace our congregation with their presence.
God gave Pastor Perkins a great vision and every year we are seeing more of that vision fulfilled.
